I think I've built up a mental block, with painting so many sketch cards over the last few years. Painting anything bigger than 5” x 7” inches sometimes feels impossible.
The next two commissions I’m doing are both poster size, 20” x 30” and bigger. I've been having the toughest time just starting either one of these things.
Today I sat down and focused all my energies into the above piece. I tried to turn off my brain and just draw, not think about what I can, or can’t do … just go, go, go until I was done.
I think I might have made a breakthrough here.
