FRANK FRAZETTA 1928 - 2010

Honestly I was done and quit with the blog, but I read some sad news today and I feel, I can't let it go by without saying something. Frank Frazetta died today.

The guy's been a hero of mine since I was a kid. He, more than anyone else, inspired me to want to paint better than what I could. He lit the fire that made me want to be a great artist ... I don't know if I've succeeded in that or not? but if I could say one last thing to Frazetta before he reaches Valhalla, Heaven or wherever he's headed, it would be a simple thanks.

Thanks for doing all those great paintings Frank, an inadvertent consequence of it was to change the course of 'my' life forever, and I appreciate that.

Thanks Brandon and thank you Mike, I really appreciate it. He was the true King and is going to be sorely missed.

... but I'm amazed that there's only been two comments, and this is a perfect example of why I just don't give a fuck about this blog anymore. Frank Frazetta dies and only two guys stop and say anything. There's been 192 hits since last Monday ... fucking pathetic!

Hey Jeff!!

Easy, dude. I don't know why, but I did not find out about the great artist's death until today (5/16)
....on your blog!!
For a guy like me who does not have cable, blackberries, or twitter, or any of the other techno stuff, If the only way I can find out news this big is on your blog then I have you to thank. But that is only because I heard it from you. Thanks liberal BS media.
Don't get pissed at folk for not giving a crap for not writing in. You quit your blog so I didn't read till today of Frank's passing.
Don't quit the blog 'cause I have you to thank for the news (the language is a little much) But I'm not here to tell you what to say in your blog.
Thanks again for the news, sad as it is. I, too, am a huge fan of Frank Frazetta and his art - I will truly miss him.
Thanks again, Jeff, for the great art-Frank would love it-especially the Jimi H and the 300 portrait.
Sincerely
