I saw a few other people posting about this so I thought I would go ahead and try to help out.
John Ikuma, the guy behind Stop Motion Magazine - Link is trying to fund a documentary called ‘In the Shadows Of Light’ It's all about the great indy stop motion animation projects that are happening right now, stuff like Misha Klien’s ‘The Hallway’ - Link, Shelley Noble’s ‘Halfland’ - Link and Justin and Shel’s ’The Line’ - Link
Really, really cool stuff. These people have taken it upon themselves to create some amazing art and there doing it independently with no help.
Whether you realize it or not, I’m an independent artist myself, I've stepped out side the system just so I can create art. When I sell cards that allows me the time to create more art. For all the internets flaws, that’s one thing that it does right, it allows guys like me to get around the blockades set up by publishers, distributors and retailers, and find an audience.
Basically that’s all Justin & Shel and Misha and Shelley are trying to do, they’re trying to take their art directly to an audience. With the quality of the work they’re putting out, every one of them deserves to make a living at what their doing. They deserve the opportunity to be able to produce this stuff full time.
If John can pull off this documentary, its going to help these people. So I’m asking you guys to help me support this thing. John's trying to fund his project through a site called Indy go-go - here’s the link. All he needs is another $500 bucks to meet his goal.
I’m broke, but even I threw in ten bucks, most of us blow that on lunch. I just checked my stats and yesterday I had 153 unique hits. If all you guys would throw in ten bucks, we would triple what John needs. So come on, skip lunch tomorrow and help this guy make a movie worth seeing.
(and just to help things along, if you guys donate, drop me an email later, let me know and I’ll send you a free print, anything you want as long as it’s a small one 2 ½” x 3 ½” inches)

Sorry to comment again... BUT...
That really is the beautiful thing about the internet. It helps artists connect directly with their supporters! Bypassing all the "systems" that steal chunks of money/time/creativity/honesty.
Amen! I fully agree about the internet's bringing radical and welcome changes for artists of every kind!

Jeff, I'm anxious to see the film, but even if it doesn't happen, Tennessee Reed suggesting me to John, John saying amazingly generous things while here, and your including me in such stellar company, has basically made me swell with pride for life already!
I grew up being such an outcast geek that to get this kind of respect is pretty much making all that pain worthwhile.
