CONAN PAINTING, WIP & EXTRA TIME

Tuesday, October 15th, 2013

I've kind of been missing the blog thing lately, but I’m hesitant to start doing it regularly again, since I have so little time.

I've been working full time & most weekends, for the last month or so, and I’m feeling pretty burned out.

This morning we had some unexpected rain that pushed us off the job, so I got to stay home and paint for a change. It felt great to be able to dedicate seven hours to a canvas, instead of the one or two I've been sneaking in at night … (plus the bonus of having a little extra time to write this blog post tonight)

I find myself looking forward to winter and the snow flying, and the possibility of being laid off for a few months. We’re completely broke and can’t afford it … but I crave the time to do something, to be creative!

Today I worked on hands. The piece is getting close to being finished, and I’m looking forward to getting it up in the gallery, and on eBay, and seeing what everyone thinks.

Thanks again, for all the kind comments lately, you guys (and gals) are keeping me going & inspired, so thanks!

I feel your pain, brother. Painting is looking soooo great! Can't wait to see the finish. As for regular blogging, I think it's supposed to come when you can get to it. Nobody really expects you (or anyone) to be able to consistantly blog with so many responsiblilties in the real world-a time for all things has it's place (or something like that). Thanks for sharing when you can share. Your piece is looking great - maybe better not to rush or fly through it!?! Maybe? Your fans - we are patient. God Bless.

This piece is going to rock, kick arse, and be phenomenal all in one awesome package!

Having a "real job" definitely dents into creative time. Even being an art teacher, I often wish that I can spend days home and work on my art. I also have the issue of dreaming about drawing all day, and then I get home and lose that motivation. I'm working on getting a routine in place so that I do something, no matter how small, every day.

The Conan piece is still looking awesome. Can't wait for the finished product! Hands are always so time consuming, glad you got to dedicate 7 hours to work on it. Thanks for updating the blog when you can, always look forward to seeing the progress of your work.
