2ND VIDEO BLOG & ROBIN HOOD

Saturday, May 24th, 2014

So I'm going to go ahead with these daily videos for a while.

Today I show off this weeks past art ... The new Robin Hood painting and Boba Fett along with a bunch of drawings.

Errol Flynn as Robin Hood, Copyright © 2013 Jeff Lafferty

The new Robin Hood piece is now up in the galleries - Link ... and also available as a signed LE Print - Buy A Print

Also the client opted not to take any of the preliminary drawings, so I went ahead and put them all up on EBay - Buy An Original Drawing

I started them out at $25 a piece, if anyone's interested in taking them all, I would consider cutting them a deal (Just let me know before there's a bid on any of them)

Thanks everyone, see you next time
-Jeff

Everyone has their opinions, and thoughts towards things. We are who we are and nothing can change that, we are all just trying to move forward or ahead, some more than others, and some are just stuck, so stuck that they pull others down with them, hater will hate, and let them, they are only jealous of you and what you're accomplishing, and how you are moving ahead and they are not.

Man if I won the lottery, look out! Money would be coming out of your ears, not just for commissions, but just to help lift the weight so heavy on your shoulders. I would commission you now but my credit card is too high and I just bought a house so needless to say I'm house poor and I have to save for a Disney world trip here in August. I can't take on any more hours at my job, they won't let me. A second job is out of the question with my 2 dogs at home. My patronage is all I can do.... for now :)

Jeff, if I can give you one small piece of advice. Don't sweat the small stuff.... Don't worry about your 'fans' and apologizing for your first vlog video and all your rambling and such,(it might be a good idea to mention there is profanity, incase people have their children around at the beginning ofthe video or perhaps they are at work, or like you said not say the f-bombs, you could always say, after saying f***, say [crying out loud] "f*** crying out loud" it's safe... You're swearing but nobody knows... Well we do now... but you know hahah ... See I'm off rambling.... Us artists can't keep our brains on a one way street... anihoo... your true fans will always be there for you, no matter what, through thick and thin, some more than others but the true fans won't go anywhere, we're along for the ride, to support you. That first video length was fine, an hour, it was like a little movie, a window into the current life of Jeff. Do what it is that you do, you make a vlog an hour long, you make a vlog an hour long. Don't worry about it.

Yes I agree with answering questions while vlogging and drawing, then if they are about how to so something perhaps you can refer to what your are currently working on and show them an example.

Anyways keep up the great work.

I don't know whats all going on but what little I know, I would say try the art thing and if things don't work out, I am guessing people are always looking for painters so you can go back to it if you have too.

For safety...keep in mind that the movie singles (the original art) you create can be sold. Though reprints of same artwork should not be sold. Had a customer not to long ago wanted to do 200 prints of martial arts character they drew. The IP belonged to acbig publishing house. Told them I could only make one print and they have to sign a release form.

ooftaZone ... No worries ooftaZone all the prints I sell are properly licensed.

Thanks for the comment

I did comics for awhile too. your part on the inker changing the whole look of the original piece was so right on. but Jeff, that was a good 15 years ago. 99% of the inkers I know in the business either ink in photoshop or they print the blue lines from the ftp site and ink on print outs.. my honest opinion? you're a painter and you've done comics. why not go independent and paint a series?

TruggyDude ... That's something I've thought about, thanks for the suggestion :)
