LINKED COMMENT I understand your struggle right now. I was a professional artist for many years. I went back into the military after the bombing In 2001. I've been retired for 4 years and did some contract work over seas after. I was headed back to the war zone when I was diagnosed with cancer. I've been battling that for a year now and because of my inability to go back and work in security I am having to pick up my art again. It's been a struggle, but I'm pushing hard at it. Your work has been a motivator towards me getting back in the game. I started off painting blank comic covers and selling them quickly. I'm not charging what I should...but I'm building a following. I'm thinking the steady paycheck is needed. I have kids myself and it's not easy when the bills are due and the bank account is empty. But I'm cranking it now, painting exclusively. Hoping this keeps me going and the bills paid. I wish you luck.
via Google+ hey jeff. love your work. i'm just starting to get my stuff up and going again. and seeing your work has been really inspirational. these videos have been great company over the last few days while i draw my stuff. i wish u all the best. you're really brave for taking on these challenges!
LINKED COMMENT I haven't had a chance to watch the video you posted of this but I'm looking forward to it watching it. I always love watching other artist processes. The finished piece looks great.
via Facebook Thanks for that. I was actually most curious to see your masking technique... I use the very same one most of the time if possible. Otherwise I just use a small piece of paper or card.
LINKED COMMENT Hi Jeff, love your pod casts, I think if you commit yourself to your art for a couple of months you'll do fine, it's not as if you're giving up a 50,000 dollar job, I left my own job at christmas and started up my own business from home and things will happen for you when you commit yourself 100% that's what I have found. I know it's difficult especially when you have a wife and kids, when I turned 40 I said fuck this shit I only have about 30 years left on the planet and I'm not going to waste anymore time wishing I was doing something else, good luck with you're decision.
via Google+ ..currently don't have my website up, been using my FB page & blogspot as one (though I should hook it up more like you have yours decked out.) And I do have my store at Storenvy... mostly will be improving my sites to improve my business end.. like you where saying.
