Really inspiring work Jeff. I think for those ones that don't turn out the way you want, you should still probably list them for something... anything. It's money coming in I guess. It could make your work more accessible. I mean even a sketch for 20 bucks probably works easier than the 150+ for the bigger, more finished pieces.

I appreciate your work and your insights. I'm still gathering my courage to try and sell something but I think I might be a ways off yet.

My biggest question to you would be how you knew you were ready to start selling your work? What gave you that burst of courage to put stuff up for sale? I know it's probably a silly question, but I struggle with this idea of trying to sell. Just not sure my stuff is good enough or whatever.

hey man, commision painting its a luxus goods and 150 dolar its nothing for this quality you represent... respect your self...

Jeff Lafferty said...

I do respect myself! This money's putting food on the table right now. Andre KICK ... Its so easy to say 'your not charging enough' when your backs not up against the wall. If the commissions go away, we don't eat, we lose our house. I don't have the luxury of waiting around for months for pieces to sell!

I appreciate your comment, but your not me and your not in my situation.

hi Jeff, i am the guy who won your 4.5 x 10.5 Clint Eastwood (Blondie) that you feature in this video ... own a few of your pieces and love all of them ... would you be interested in a Sean Connery commission as 007 ?

Jeff Lafferty said...

Yes defiantly Anthony I'll message you, thanks

hey, i mean... that world dont respect any more hand work skillz like yours... and they just want use bad situation of an artist to get cheap art work... and this is not cool... so people if you respect artists and want to see more of his works...suport them and pay more then they want!!! doing cheat art work its like work for a food...

Jeff Lafferty said...

Andre KICK ... alright, I didn't mean to take offence. I just get stressed out about this stuff.

Also love that style (the oil painting). I'd love if you could artcast more of it. I'm trying to learn myself :)

If you ever use regular colored pencils, fixative helps prevent wax bloom. I know you use the col-erase mostly though, which I don't think has that much wax. Just make sure you shake the fixative really well before spraying (I'm thinking that might have been part of the problem last time, a near=empty can of fixative that had some build up at the bottom of the can that came out when you sprayed it).

Love seeing your work even if you consider some dated or even failures. They are like looking at an artists sketchbook. All part of one journey.
...and yes please, we need a few other group administrators. A few people we can trust. The group is getting too big for us to keep it under control and focused.
