Kevin Cross
Kevin Cross Hi dave!
Samuraiox
Samuraiox Heyo!!!
Kevin Cross
Kevin Cross Hey Ox!
Samuraiox
Samuraiox Seems like a topic useful to me so sleep can come in a couple hours lol
Samuraiox
Samuraiox I'm only chiming in on my own experience. I was thinking about doing a kickstarter for every couple issues and when I started thinking about it, I would loose that payoff I almost NEED every issue
Gary Enerson
Gary Enerson Hey all! Finally get to sit in live tonight.
Dave Forbes Illustration
Dave Forbes Illustration heys!
Samuraiox
Samuraiox Hey Gary!
Gary Enerson
Gary Enerson How's things Dave and Ox?
Samuraiox
Samuraiox It's been good so far, it seems to be rather quickly once you have the initial issue up. I tested out a couple things with this last upload and was turned away but it's 'accepted pending changes"
Samuraiox
Samuraiox Not too bad Gary, you?
Gary Enerson
Gary Enerson Doing fine.
Dave Forbes Illustration
Dave Forbes Illustration I'm doing OK. Boring work right now, i'm freelancing and drawing surgical room prep, the middle manager is from India and there has been some problems (language barrier) in the notes/ corrections.
Gary Enerson
Gary Enerson Bummer Dave. Hang in there, man. Currently working on a Dengar sketch card myself.
Dave Forbes Illustration
Dave Forbes Illustration thanks, that sounds more fun!
Dave Forbes Illustration
Dave Forbes Illustration way more fun
Samuraiox
Samuraiox There 7 billion people out in the world...all we need is 1000 of them 😀
Dave Forbes Illustration
Dave Forbes Illustration nice
Samuraiox
Samuraiox The good thing about having a back catalog is you can offer early ones as digital rewards for current projects
Samuraiox
Samuraiox one of the previous kickstarter that i backed has done that and its a nice way to get your work out there too
Samuraiox
Samuraiox No kidding, I know my pages will be plastered with monkeys and mods
Samuraiox
Samuraiox the only problem i have right now is that i don't have people that have faith in me just yet...but 2016 should be pretty incredible!
Samuraiox
Samuraiox Webtoons, its where he's exclusively posting his Sithrah
Samuraiox
Samuraiox Its a scrolling site, not a page flip style website so its a little getting used to
Samuraiox
Samuraiox Regardless...if you see a comic about puppets...you should definitely pick it up 😉
Samuraiox
Samuraiox booking my con tour next year and hitting the road for sure!
Samuraiox
Samuraiox I typically do about 100 run each kickstarter
Gary Enerson
Gary Enerson Comics and music?!? Nice. Be sure to put the bonus track on the record only, Kevin.
Kevin Cross
Kevin Cross Definitely!
Gary Enerson
Gary Enerson When you shop your comic to a publisher, are you obligated to hold off on other publishers? Even if the one you are talking to holds your property for months?
Samuraiox
Samuraiox Gumroad is great for distributing electronicly
Samuraiox
Samuraiox Comix does offer a 'guided view' and thats really the only difference.
Gary Enerson
Gary Enerson Cool
Gary Enerson
Gary Enerson I imagine putting the first few pages of the Graphic Novel on line would help as well. Kinda like what was mentioned before.
Samuraiox
Samuraiox In the spring im hitting the circuit for cons and going out to the coast to also shop my comic. I'll hit a few of them, no holds barred
Gary Enerson
Gary Enerson Good luck, Ox
Samuraiox
Samuraiox Thanks! \m/
Gary Enerson
Gary Enerson Gotta jet. Peace out, y'all.
Samuraiox
Samuraiox Later gary!
Dave Forbes Illustration
Dave Forbes Illustration done, thanks all

From the Comixology website: "You will receive 50% of the net sale of your title (after we pay our mobile distributors their standard fees). If your title is sold through our website, 50% of the gross sale after the credit card fess are taken out." [For whatever that's worth.] BTW, Jeff, you are listed on Comixology as a "creator" for X-Men: Books of Askani, that is sold on the site. In case you were unaware.

+FrankMakesMovies Thanks for the info Frank. 50% seems like a big chunk to take, considering the product is digital, but I guess it would be worth it if you're getting sales you otherwise wouldn't ... I worked on The Askani books a long time ago, didn't realize the books were on there.

what if you'd make your title slightly interactive here and there and instead of selling it as a book of some kind you sold it as an app for mobile platforms ?

+Yannemal Sounds like a good idea, thanks for the comment!
