Hi everyone, long time no see …
Just wanted to say thanks for all the kind words and well wishes for my Dad … he’s out of the hospital now and doing well again.
I really appreciate all the support from everybody … friends, customers, clients, everyone really stepped up and offered their help and … really just cut me some slack while things weren't happening as well as they could have been … Thanks guys!
I've finally started to feel some inspiration again, and picked up a brush and got back to doing some work. Something a little different though … this piece, based on a Conan story by Robert E Howard.
Its oil on canvas. Not my usual tools or subject matter, and its bigger than my usual stuff too … 12” x 16” inches.
I don’t know what to think about it, but I haven’t felt driven or passionate about my art for a while now … with this piece I do (and it feels damn good!)
Let me know what you guys think. It’s still a ways from being done, but I’m planning on auctioning it when it is, and probably making prints too. If anybody wants in on a print early, or possibly wants to buy the original before it goes on eBay, email me.
Thanks again everyone
- Jeff

Sorry, I wasn't aware of you Dad's problems. Still, good to hear good news! Also, glad you've got some inspiration. I'm sort of just tooling along, nothing to write home about right now...
i mustve missed the post about your dad's health problems. hope for a speedy recovery! loving the painting wip...very frazetta like and totally badass! are you finding oils to be more difficult and are you going to do a video of you painting this..?
I'm glad to hear that he's all right, Jeff! And I can't wait to see that Conan piece finished! Oil is different!
Glad to hear you are feeling inspired and your Dad is doing better. The Conan piece looks great! Pretty dynamic looking pose & just a great sense of movement in the piece! It's always a pleasure seeing your pictures & videos. It's nice watching the progression of your work from start to finish. I'll be in line for a print for sure!
It's great that your Dad is feeling better!!
Jeff, glad to hear about your Dad and hope he gets better every day!
This piece rocks. I see you've really flexed your artistic muscles on this one, and I must say, your t-shirt must be busting at the seams right now!
best wishes for your Dad and awesome stuff you did there Jeff :D
Awesome!
~artlovr59 ... Thanks!
~dannycruz4 ... Thanks Danny ... I am planning on making a video when I'm done (filming as I go) and yeah I do think the oils are a little more difficult. I'm trying a different sort of technique with them also, skipping the under drawing and going straight into color, that might be why it seems harder at the moment.
Thanks again for the comment dude

Looks great Jeff... I'm wrestling with that lack of inspiration thingy now these days... Glad to see you've got some spark going - sometimes venturing outside the comfort zone is just what the art-doctor ordered.... Glad to hear your dad is doing well!
BEST TO YOU MY FRIEND ~cm
Sorry to hear about your dad-glad he is on the mend. Very nice painting. Full of awesome energy and action-like Frazetta used to put into his. Man , when you shake it off, you really come out swingin!'
I could use a little inspiration myself . . .my stop-motion movie is in limbo right now. Great work, Jeff!!
You're welcome.
Welcome Brother!!!
The technique is just stellar, it's got that kind of " mystical " feel to it, and feels like a real fantasy piece as soon as you look at it. I think you've shown us all some really great versatility here, both with the use of a completely different medium, as well as results so far. Your work, as I see it, is always very detailed and crisp, and I like that this piece has that dreamy feel to it.
Can't wait to see the finished product.
Oh, Jeff, just as a sidebar, I finally invested in an airbrush system. Came with an Iwata airbrush, small compressor, some paint, a book & 2 DVDs. I'm not looking to do full start to finish works, just wanted another tool for the arsenal for finishing touches and such.
Chris Mason ... Thanks Chris!
Eric Muller ... Thanks Eric
David P. Geister ... Thanks David, yeah stopmotion is tough, it takes so long it's had to keep that initial spark of inspiration. Just keep at it dude.
~Challenger2008 ... Great to hear your picking up the airbrush. just looking at your style, I think it'll fit in beautifully!

Good to know your father is doing better. Worry for our loved ones can certainly zap the energy from our artistic reserves. Looks like it's returned in full force. Keep sharing it's progress.
Wow such an awesome piece! I love how your distinct style is even more apparent in your original works! Such an amazing thing to see, and I can't wait to see more.. :D
Also i'm glad that your dad is doing better and continuing best wishes!
The Art of Kim Kincaid ... Thanks Kim!
