HAN SOLO & COMMISSIONS ARE OPEN

Friday, May 23rd, 2014

(Note ... In case you can't figure out why this post all of a sudden changed) ... this video was actually suppose to be the blog post for today.

It took longer than I expected to render and upload, but I still feel it needs to be up today, because of what I talk about, so I'm just adding it late.

Four days days in a row, four new drawings ... I think I'm on a streak!

Here's the latest one, Han Solo from Star Wars.

Also, dont forget commissions are open ... Commission prices are here

Thanks, see you next time

When I have my new computer bought and I have a bit more cash I'm determined buy one of these from you, maybe commission a specific film. Great work as always Jeff!

Jeff - I like this sort of free-form format.. I always get a kick out of listening to artists 'ramble' while they work... I often talk to myself when I'm painting!

have not really looked into the patron thing. sounded like the swag box service that is out there. either case the service does not interest me.

personally if the demand is high turn out more commission work. also develop some intellectual property that can reproduced and sold. in long run hopefully IP that is licensed by other business.

have made prints for several artist at my job. something as simple as fold over cards is bankable money.

you would make so much fuckin money tattooing . you could transition with a months effort easily

I prefer unedited messes....And I absolutely approve of this kind of "anti speed-painting." An artist's insight and commentary on the process is always far more valuable and impressive than the resulting work...
I like the idea of collaboration, but it can only go so far before it becomes somewhat of a melange of competing styles/egos...however, when you find the rare group of individuals that work really well together, I think the work surpasses anything they would be able to accomplish individually.

I enjoyed this, I like it. I would totally watch more of these. Its nice to see the real process and the thoughts behind the artist. It feels more interactive.... if that makes sense. I watch a girl that does daily vlogs, where she vlogs about her day, and when she goes places she vlogs too, but I like this because we get to see you draw, and you still talk about your life/day, and you can ask us question or advice and such, Good job!

I actually enjoyed this. It motivated me to do some extra work on a commission before I ship it out on Tuesday. If you get a chance, check me out on Facebook. Sid LaJeunesse is what it's under. Keep it up, I know what you're going through with the job and the desire to paint full time again.

A fascinating, and really honest video, Jeff. I'm in the 'way over critical stage' myself right now so to know I'm not alone and that I might get through it? That's really encouraging to me. So yeah, thank you. :) Oh and Boba looks freakin' AWESOME!

I think there's something wrong with this site, http://www.JeffLafferty.com/ there's nothing about you or your work on it, just stuff about precious metals and random things.

I couldn't find your commission rate. How much do you charge to do a piece?

Jeff Lafferty said...

FellVoice ... Sorry man, guess my domain expired and I didnt realize it ... here's my site http://jefflaffertyillustration.blogspot.com/

FellVoice ...http://goo.gl/eavPA0 ... my rates are here. Basically it starts at $55 for a sketch card and goes up in size from there, Thanks for the comment and interest in my work.

your art is amazing. I'm a 40 something stay at home dad trying to juggle a freelance art career too. Your honesty is inspiring. I think the unedited work is much more relatable than just seeing you paint amazing pics in fast forward. I hope you keep it up in this new format. Thank you for what you do for the youtube community. :)
